Comic on hiatus for awhile

As stated in my Twitter post, the comic will be on hiatus until at least the middle of March. Unfortunately, this term has me overloaded with homework--art homework. The time I'd normally spend on comics is now spent on art homework for the most part. Even when I don't have homework, I don't particularly feel like doing anything that invovles the computer (art wise). It's put me into a bit of an art block. ^^;.
And even if I did feel like drawing, I'd have to redraw many of the pages I had set aside for the comic. I don't like them anymore. ^^;;;. By spring break, homework should slow down, as it looks like next term's art class is a lecture class, and the other is a class on typography--something that doesn't involve really drawing complex designs outside class(or at least I assume not). I'm really hoping this is the case.
Anyway, I'll see all of you again in mid-March. I'll post another message announcing my continuing the comic.

As the title says, I'll have the next page done next week. I originally aimed for later today (the 15th), but unforeseen circumstances prevented me from working on the page for four days. D:. There was a power outage due to a storm where I live, and I had NO computer access until today. >_<;. I've resumed work on it, however, and now aim for next Wednesday. Sorry for the delay. This time, though, it's not my fault. XD.
Anyway.. the outage DID do one good thing, though-- I was able to draw the next three pages. And this time, the art is NEW. :). The next page has new art, too. No more old art. :D

Oh.. and as for other HP-related things.. I hope that the last movie is as good as it looks. :D. I'm really looking forward to seeing it. :). It'll be interesting to see the movie's take on Rose, Al, and the others. I'm curious to see how close I am to how they're supposed to look. XD. Even if I'm wrong, I'm not changing their designs, however. I drew them before the movie came out, and that is how I think they should look. Others MAY be affected, though. XD

In case you didn't see it on the site updates, I'll repost the status update I posted there.

It's been awhile, huh? ^^;. I do apologize for the slow updates-- the last two terms of school have been terrible. To the six of you that have put up with me all this time.. thank you so much! If it wasn't for you guys, I don't think I'd have the motivation to finish. D:.
Anyway.. I DO plan on continuing this comic. I have many, many ideas for it. All of which have not been used yet. Unfortunately, it'll be kind of slow (I'm only one person, unfortunately), but I will add them as I finish them. At any rate, I am 30% of the way done with the next page. Like I said, it's slow, but it will come eventually. I won't be updating it anytime in the next two weeks, but I'd like to have it up by the first week of July. I will try to work on it in the next two days, and TRY to finish it. Wish me luck! :)

In other news.. I've also decided to make a Twitter account as a supplement to this update blog. I know that many more people have Twitter than Blogger, so I thought I'd be reaching a wider audience that way. Additionally, as the amount allowed for posting is so much shorter, I'll be able to post updates even during the busiest months. :D. However, there are some differences between this blog and the Twitter account, though. On the Twitter account, I will also occasionally post things related to life, anime, manga, Harry Potter, or art.

On a related note.. I mentioned my re-done character design doodles in the last post. Even though they're just that, I've decided to post them. (I know I said they're spoilers, but I decided that they really aren't, after all. They are only designs, after all.) The designs are subject to change, of course, but here are Albus Severus and Rose as fifth years, and Iruel with a different hair style.

Sorry for the ugly watermark-- I just don't want anyone stealing my doodle. Stupid thing to be paranoid about, but I don't want to risk it. Anyway.. they don't look all that different, do they? ^^;. Of all the doodles, I may actually stick with the one for Iruel. I actually like his hair better that way. I have to find some way to work that into the story. As well as how he's only 21, and a professor.. ^^;. I wonder if Hogwarts has student teaching.. cause that's all I can think

I apologize for the lack of updates during the past few months. I drew several pages during December, and wrote the script for the next 12 pages or so since the last update, but I haven't done what act ually moves the story along: completed pages. In December, I was a bit ahead of schedule, and thought I could squeeze in some Gaia commissions before the next page. BIG mistake. These commissions made me lose my will to work on any art for months, as I knew I'd have to face working on them. D:. I managed to finish two of them, and am nearly done with a third. This will be the last, however-- I can't keep letting my art suffer because of them. I have recently resumed work on the comic, and the clean up of the lineart is nearly finished. I should be able to begin toning tonight, and I hope to have the next page out sometime next week. Again, I apologize for the wait. Rest assured, I am not giving up on this comic. In fact, I'd like nothing more than to be able to work on it. :). I've drawn plenty of doodles for it since, and written script in my school notebooks, and constantly am coming up with new ideas. In fact, I've even redrawn some of the characters, and given them new designs. One of them I'd like to work into the story soon. (It's for Iruel. I like the new hair style I gave him more than the old. XD.) The other designs are spoilers. ^^;. They're Albus and Rose when they're 5th years. ^^;;.
Let me know if you'd like to see the doodles. I don't have any intention of posting them now, as they're REALLY rough, but if you really want to see them, let me know. :).

Anyway.. hope to see you next week! *crosses fingers, and hopes that everything goes well*

As the last news post was in October, in case you haven't seen it already, I added the next page in December. However.. I haven't really worked on anything since then. D:. I got swamped with Gaia commissions, and with limited computer time (due to having to get up early. >_<;.), I haven't had a chance to finish those. >_<;.

I do, however, have several pages worth of script written-- up until 20 or more. :). They just aren't drawn yet. D:.
Anyway.. I'm not sure when the next update will be. I will update this when I'm finished with Gaia commissions. (and I'm closing that for now, too. >_<;.)
Thank you all so much for your patience! :). I hope to continue to be able to make the comic.. if stuff keeps being like this, I won't be able to anymore. D:. And that is the thing I'd like to do the LEAST. I don't want to have been forced to stop working on Tsukiyo, and THEN this comic, too. D:.
Well, that's all there is for now. :). I just hope I'm able to finish those stupid commissions before too long-- 3K gold isn't worth this.

I apologize for not updating in awhile again- I got sidetracked, and lost track of time. Additionally.. I just didn't feel like drawing pages for a long time. I don't know why that was- I just lost all desire to do so. D:. Sorry about that. However, I DO have an announcement, though. As I know I take forever to tone/color pages, I thought I'd let you guys see the unfinished pages. These will be inked, cleaned up, and lettered- but not toned. They'll look exactly as they would before I toned it. Unfortunately, these will also bear a really fugly watermark. >_<;. However, it will allow you guys to see the story ahead of time. :). I have one page that's scanned now that's inked, and one in the process of being toned. Unfortunately, the one that's being toned is the one that comes before the inked one, so I can't post the inks. Yet. As soon as I finished the toned page, I'll post it, and post the next one two weeks later. And so on, and so forth. These pages will eventually be toned, but I thought I'd allow the story to move slightly faster. The Hogwarts Express scenes are getting pretty old, and fast. And my art's getting ancient. XD. I can't stand to look at the first few pages. >_<;. I MAY redo them someday. MAYBE. But for now, I hope you guys can deal with ancient artwork. D:.

Anyway.. I hope to have the next page finished soon. I'm nearly done with toning it now. :). If I'm lucky, I'll have it finished by next week. :). See you then!

Sorry about the missed update (again). D:. I completely forgot to work on it all week. I guess I'm still tired from final's week. :(.

Anyway.. I hope to have the next page done by next week- as I said in the last post, it's nearly finished (lettered, too), and almost ready to post. I just need to put the finishing touches on it. There's even a slight chance I'll finish it tomorrow or Saturday, if I work hard enough. :D. Anyway.. look forward to it then. :). I hope to see you all again really soon. :D.

Chance of an update this week, but..

I nearly am finished with the next page (As I said, tones are a lot faster), but due to finals, there's a small chance I won't be updating this week. If I won't have the page done, I'll post a doodle I drew as a filler. XD. At least it'll be something. The odds are highly against it, but as the possibility exists, I thought I should let you all know.
Current progress:
-Inks, pencils, and character 'tones' have been placed. I'm working on lettering, and backgrounds right now.

I'll let you know the final verdict by the end of the week. :).

I've finished the CG and backgrounds for the next page, which means that all I have left to do is letter it. As I'm on the last step, I'll have the next page up on Friday of next week. I'm starting to clean up the lineart for the following page, which will be, as stated earlier, in greyscale.

A quick status update

Unfortunately, not an actual update for the comic. D:. Just some in general news regarding it.
I plan on working on that a bit more over the weekend. Hopefully, I'll get somewhere. :D. I didn't have all that much left, so I'm crossing my fingers for an update by the end of the month. At the very, very latest, I'll have it done by June. That is the LAST thing that I want to do, though, so I'm aiming for earlier than later.

Second bit of news:
The next page will be the last one in full color. D:. It's far too time consuming, and by the time I finish the comic using color, no one will want to read it anymore. To actually get somewhere in the plot within the next few years, I plan on using black and white screentones to shade the comic. This way, I'll be able to update the comic at a faster pace, and the story will get the opportunity to pick up. The beginning of every Harry Potter novel was a bit slow, and unfortunately, this won't be any better. I have to set everything up, after all. With faster updates, I can get to Hogwarts faster, and the plot will pick up. And I'll finally get to draw someone other than Albus, Rose, and Iruel. XD. Though Iruel isn't going anywhere. :3. And I'll eventually get to that Peeves chapter I've been wanting to draw. Though that's a long way off yet- probably past volume one. D:. The thought of drawing 100+ pages is very daunting.. .__.;. But I'll get through it. :D.

D:. I REALLY hate school. Due to excessive amounts of essays/homework, I haven't had any time for artwork. D:. And with Anime Central just around the corner, what little free time I have is eaten up with last minute cosplay touch-ups. (If you're going to ACEN, come say hi. XD. I'm cosplaying Lemina Ausa from Lunar 2: Eternal Blue on Friday, and Anju Maaka from Karin in Saturday. :3. And in case there's a second Lemina or Anju, I'm really tall. XD.)
Anyway, back to the comic..
I do have the art cleaned up, and before school ate my life, I was CGing it. D:. If I had to give a number, I'd say the comic is 40% done. I'll try to finish it this month. When summer starts, I'm working on as many pages as I can. With school in the way, I'd take years to finish if I don't hurry. D:. Anyway.. see you soon!

I'm really starting to hate school again. >_<;. Unfortunately, I couldn't make my (self given, thankfully) April 14th deadline due to limited time during the weekdays due to school. D:. I have worked on the comic since the last update, though. :D. I have finished the flat colors, began shading the characters (I have Rose done in one panel, as she's the easiest for me to color, and I believe that I had started coloring Albus's jacket, too.). In addition to that, I have started to work on the backgrounds a bit. :). I plan on trying to get a bit more done tomorrow night, and perhaps some on Sunday night, too. (Tomorrow night's far more likely, however.)
I won't be done, but it'll be something. :D. I'm aiming for a new release date of either next Friday, or the last week of April. *crosses fingers*

Look for it then! I hope you like it. :). It took me seemingly forever to finish. >_<;. Not too much will happen in this page, unfortunately. >_<;. Rose puts Al in his place, which is a good thing. Like with the Golden Trio, someone's gotta be the voice of reason. And who better than to take Hermione's role than Hermione's daughter? XD. Though I have to find some way to make her a bit like Ron. XD. I think that she won't tolerate rudeness, but that she's a lot more tolerant of mischief. Anyway.. I've finished the lineart for the next page, and am working on cleaning it up right now. :). Here's a preview:

No status updates for two months.. sorry about that. This semester at school's been rather hellish. :(. Not in terms of essays or anything like that, but in terms of reading. One class wants at least 50 pages of readings within two days.. and another wants the same. One class wants a novel within five days. And sans one, they're not short. >_<;. Only ONE class is sane. :(. It sucks. >_<;. Now that I've vented a bit.. I HAVE been working on the comic. It's just been a bit slowly. ^^;. I try to draw something on days when I don't have school. Whether it be a doodle, or a drawing- right now, it's just doodles, though. ^^;. HOWEVER.. I am nearly finished with the next page. The characters are all colored, and I'm currently working on the background. I'm aiming for it to come out next Sunday. :). But we'll have to see about that, unfortunately. :( I also have the pencils finished for the next page, and have the next two pages sketched out. I'm not certain when those will be released, but hey, they're there. That should count for something, right? XD. And.. just to prove it, here's the finished version (minus background texture) of Rose.

Al and Rose appear for this page again. XD. But.. that's all I'll say about that. You'll just have to wait for the actual page to see what happens.

Oh.. and I'm highly contemplating redoing the really early pages. As I don't have any other comics, I should be able to do so. However, I'm a bit afraid that it'd take time away from the new pages, so I'll probably hold off on it for awhile. Even though the art is terrible by my current standards.. :(. Ugh.

Anyway.. hopefully, I'll see you all again Sunday! ^_^

Working on new page :D

I finished the lineart for the next page on Tuesday night. :). I won't be able to touch it (Cg wise, anyway) until after I finish my illustration for Christmas (which will feature one of my next comic's characters.)
However, it shouldn't be that much longer- it's coming along well, so it shouldn't take me that much longer.
Anyway.. I plan on working on all kinds of pages over break (I seldom get time during the school year- it'll be fine for the first few weeks, but if this term's anything like the last one.. well, it won't be pretty. It SHOULDN'T be, though- my classes are a lot more 'normal' this time around.), so updates should be regular for awhile. I plan on getting two pages of lineart done a week- perhaps more- over the break, which is a good thing. :). I should have at least 10-15 pages done before school resumes in January. However, this doesn't mean I'm going to change my update schedule, however- I still plan on releasing a new page every other week. (It takes me forever to CG them).
Anyway.. here's the lineart for one of the panels on the next page:

Yeah. XD. It's Al again. XD. But keep in mind that Al isn't the main character- Iruel is. But these few pages aren't the only times he'll appear, though. So if you like Al (Well.. what you know of him from the book), you're in for a treat. :).

Anyway.. this is the home for the NEW Solis et Noctis update journal. And as an added bonus, I'm going to post some additional artwork relating to the series here. But ground rules still apply: No stealing! >_<

And as for you who find the journal, but know nothing about the comic..
Solis et Noctis is the title of my Harry Potter doujinshi. (Warning: Comic contains character names that are spoilers for book 7. But I'm sure those interested have read it already, so this shouldn't be a problem. But for those of you just starting the Harry Potter series, be warned.

Summary:

19 years later after the defeat of Lord Voldemort, all is assumed to be well. In this time of peace, dark lords are thought to be no longer. Even so, evil continues to lurk in the shadows.
The newest Defense against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts school for Witchcraft and Wizardry, Iruel, isn't all what he seems. He was raised his entire life to be the next dark lord, in case anything were to go wrong with Voldemort's plan. 21 years later, he is finally considered by the Death Eaters 'Of Age', and is sent to get revenge for the one he replaced- by killing Harry Potter and his family. But as a wise wizard once said "No one is born evil..."
See what happens in this continuation of the Harry Potter series!
