Update on the status of the comic

I have some good news, and some bad. Well, it's not really bad, as it'll benefit the comic in the long run, but.. well, you'll see.

The good news is, after many months of being busy with school, I nearly have the next page done. I only have to shade the background now. :). I'll try to have it up by Friday.

The 'bad' news is that I will be postponing newer pages that would continue the current plot in favor of a prologue chapter. I feel that this will greatly enhance the comic, and make it feel more akin to a real Harry Potter book. After all, those always begin with something in the past, or involve someone other than Harry.
I also feel that it would make things make more sense, and give Iruel more of a proper introduction. This will, like the first few pages, also be in full color, and will only be posted once all of it is finished. I REALLY hope to have it done by the end of the year or sooner, but I can't guarantee anything. Once I begin the prologue, I will let you know how many pages to expect, and how far I am in drawing/coloring each one as I draw them.

After the prologue, I will resume work on the newer pages. I may also go back and redraw the first few current pages, but that won't affect new pages.

Comic on hiatus for awhile

As stated in my Twitter post, the comic will be on hiatus until at least the middle of March. Unfortunately, this term has me overloaded with homework--art homework. The time I'd normally spend on comics is now spent on art homework for the most part. Even when I don't have homework, I don't particularly feel like doing anything that invovles the computer (art wise). It's put me into a bit of an art block. ^^;.
And even if I did feel like drawing, I'd have to redraw many of the pages I had set aside for the comic. I don't like them anymore. ^^;;;. By spring break, homework should slow down, as it looks like next term's art class is a lecture class, and the other is a class on typography--something that doesn't involve really drawing complex designs outside class(or at least I assume not). I'm really hoping this is the case.
Anyway, I'll see all of you again in mid-March. I'll post another message announcing my continuing the comic.

New page coming next week!

As the title says, I'll have the next page done next week. I originally aimed for later today (the 15th), but unforeseen circumstances prevented me from working on the page for four days. D:. There was a power outage due to a storm where I live, and I had NO computer access until today. >_<;. I've resumed work on it, however, and now aim for next Wednesday. Sorry for the delay. This time, though, it's not my fault. XD.
Anyway.. the outage DID do one good thing, though-- I was able to draw the next three pages. And this time, the art is NEW. :). The next page has new art, too. No more old art. :D

Oh.. and as for other HP-related things..  I hope that the last movie is as good as it looks. :D. I'm really looking forward to seeing it. :). It'll be interesting to see the movie's take on Rose, Al, and the others. I'm curious to see how close I am to how they're supposed to look.  XD. Even if I'm wrong, I'm not changing their designs, however. I drew them before the movie came out, and that is how I think they should look. Others MAY be affected, though. XD

Update status, Twitter account, and doodles :D

In case you didn't see it on the site updates, I'll repost the status update I posted there.

It's been awhile, huh? ^^;. I do apologize for the slow updates-- the last two terms of school have been terrible. To the six of you that have put up with me all this time.. thank you so much! If it wasn't for you guys, I don't think I'd have the motivation to finish. D:.
Anyway.. I DO plan on continuing this comic. I have many, many ideas for it. All of which have not been used yet. Unfortunately, it'll be kind of slow (I'm only one person, unfortunately), but I will add them as I finish them. At any rate, I am 30% of the way done with the next page. Like I said, it's slow, but it will come eventually. I won't be updating it anytime in the next two weeks, but I'd like to have it up by the first week of July. I will try to work on it in the next two days, and TRY to finish it. Wish me luck! :)

In other news.. I've also decided to make a Twitter account as a supplement to this update blog. I know that many more people have Twitter than Blogger, so I thought I'd be reaching a wider audience that way. Additionally, as the amount allowed for posting is so much shorter, I'll be able to post updates even during the busiest months. :D. However, there are some differences between this blog and the Twitter account, though. On the Twitter account, I will also occasionally post things related to life, anime, manga, Harry Potter, or art.

On a related note.. I mentioned my re-done character design doodles in the last post. Even though they're just that, I've decided to post them. (I know I said they're spoilers, but I decided that they really aren't, after all. They are only designs, after all.) The designs are subject to change, of course, but here are Albus Severus and Rose as fifth years, and Iruel with a different hair style.

Sorry for the ugly watermark-- I just don't want anyone stealing my doodle. Stupid thing to be paranoid about, but I don't want to risk it. Anyway.. they don't look all that different, do they? ^^;. Of all the doodles, I may actually stick with the one for Iruel. I actually like his hair better that way. I have to find some way to work that into the story. As well as how he's only 21, and a professor.. ^^;. I wonder if Hogwarts has student teaching.. cause that's all I can think

I apologize for the lack of updates during the past few months. I drew several pages during December, and wrote the script for the next 12 pages or so since the last update, but I haven't done what act ually moves the story along: completed pages. In December, I was a bit ahead of schedule, and thought I could squeeze in some Gaia commissions before the next page. BIG mistake. These commissions made me lose my will to work on any art for months, as I knew I'd have to face working on them. D:. I managed to finish two of them, and am nearly done with a third. This will be the last, however-- I can't keep letting my art suffer because of them. I have recently resumed work on the comic, and the clean up of the lineart is nearly finished. I should be able to begin toning tonight, and I hope to have the next page out sometime next week. Again, I apologize for the wait. Rest assured, I am not giving up on this comic. In fact, I'd like nothing more than to be able to work on it. :). I've drawn plenty of doodles for it since, and written script in my school notebooks, and constantly am coming up with new ideas. In fact, I've even redrawn some of the characters, and given them new designs. One of them I'd like to work into the story soon. (It's for Iruel. I like the new hair style I gave him more than the old. XD.) The other designs are spoilers. ^^;. They're Albus and Rose when they're 5th years. ^^;;.
Let me know if you'd like to see the doodles. I don't have any intention of posting them now, as they're REALLY rough, but if you really want to see them, let me know. :).

As the last news post was in October, in case you haven't seen it already, I added the next page in December. However.. I haven't really worked on anything since then. D:. I got swamped with Gaia commissions, and with limited computer time (due to having to get up early. >_<;.), I haven't had a chance to finish those. >_<;.

I do, however, have several pages worth of script written-- up until 20 or more. :). They just aren't drawn yet. D:.
Anyway.. I'm not sure when the next update will be. I will update this when I'm finished with Gaia commissions. (and I'm closing that for now, too. >_<;.)
Thank you all so much for your patience! :). I hope to continue to be able to make the comic.. if stuff keeps being like this, I won't be able to anymore. D:. And that is the thing I'd like to do the LEAST. I don't want to have been forced to stop working on Tsukiyo, and THEN this comic, too. D:.
Well, that's all there is for now. :). I just hope I'm able to finish those stupid commissions before too long-- 3K gold isn't worth this.

I apologize for not updating in awhile again- I got sidetracked, and lost track of time. Additionally.. I just didn't feel like drawing pages for a long time. I don't know why that was- I just lost all desire to do so. D:. Sorry about that. However, I DO have an announcement, though. As I know I take forever to tone/color pages, I thought I'd let you guys see the unfinished pages. These will be inked, cleaned up, and lettered- but not toned. They'll look exactly as they would before I toned it. Unfortunately, these will also bear a really fugly watermark. >_<;. However, it will allow you guys to see the story ahead of time. :). I have one page that's scanned now that's inked, and one in the process of being toned. Unfortunately, the one that's being toned is the one that comes before the inked one, so I can't post the inks. Yet. As soon as I finished the toned page, I'll post it, and post the next one two weeks later. And so on, and so forth. These pages will eventually be toned, but I thought I'd allow the story to move slightly faster. The Hogwarts Express scenes are getting pretty old, and fast. And my art's getting ancient. XD. I can't stand to look at the first few pages. >_<;. I MAY redo them someday. MAYBE. But for now, I hope you guys can deal with ancient artwork. D:.

Anyway.. I hope to have the next page finished soon. I'm nearly done with toning it now. :). If I'm lucky, I'll have it finished by next week. :). See you then!
